Abstract

बंजारा समुदाय भारत के प्रमुख पारंपरिक एवं ऐतिहासिक समुदायों में से एक है, जिसकी सामाजिक एवं सांस्कृतिक पहचान उसकी विशिष्ट जीवनशैली, पारंपरिक व्यवसाय, वेशभूषा, लोकगीत, लोकनृत्य, धार्मिक मान्यताओं तथा सामुदायिक परंपराओं से निर्मित हुई है। ऐतिहासिक रूप से बंजारा समुदाय के लोगों का सम्बन्ध व्यापार, वस्तुओं के परिवहन तथा घुमंतू जीवन से जोड़ा जाता है। बंजारा समुदाय के लोग मुख्य रूप से पशुपालक और व्यापारी रहे हैं, इन्हें विभिन्न प्रकार के नामों जैसे - ‘गौर’, ‘लमान’, ‘लंबानी’ आदि नामों से भी जाना जाता है। समय के साथ सामाजिक, आर्थिक, राजनीतिक तथा तकनीकी परिवर्तनों के कारण बंजारा समुदाय की जीवनशैली में भी बहुत परिवर्तन आए हैं।
इस अध्ययन का उद्देश्य बंजारा समुदाय की सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक एवं आर्थिक पृष्ठभूमि को समझना है तथा वर्तमान समय में समुदाय के जीवन में हो रहे परिवर्तनों का अध्ययन करना है। इस अध्ययन में परिवार की संरचना, शिक्षा, व्यवसाय, आय, आवास, खान-पान, वेशभूषा, भाषा, धार्मिक विश्वास, विवाह परंपरा, महिलाओं की स्थिति, स्वास्थ्य सम्बन्धी व्यवहार तथा सरकारी योजनाओं तक पहुँच जैसे पक्षों को शामिल किया गया है। इस अध्ययन को प्राथमिक व द्वितीयक आंकड़ों के द्वारा पूरा किया गया है। द्वितीयक आंकड़ों में न्यूज पेपर, इन्टरनेट, सरकारी आंकड़ों का प्रयोग किया गया है।
इस अध्ययन के द्वारा यह समझने का प्रयास किया गया है, कि परंपरागत सांस्कृतिक विशेषताओं को बनाए रखते हुए बंजारा समुदाय आधुनिक सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक व्यवस्था के साथ किस प्रकार सामंजस्य स्थापित कर रहा है। मुख्य रूप से शिक्षा, रोजगार, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं, महिला सशक्तिकरण तथा सामाजिक सुरक्षा के क्षेत्र में समुदाय की स्थिति को समझना बहुत आवश्यक है। इस प्रकार का अध्ययन समुदाय की वास्तविक आवश्यकताओं की पहचान करने तथा उनके सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक विकास के लिए उपयुक्त कार्यक्रमों के निर्माण में उपयोगी हो सकता है।
