Plagiarism Policy
1. Introduction
Kavya Setu is committed to academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and violates our publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo strict plagiarism checks to ensure that they meet the highest standards of scholarly integrity.
2. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the use of another author’s work, ideas, or words without proper attribution. It includes but is not limited to:
- Direct plagiarism – Copying text, figures, or data without citation.
- Self-plagiarism – Republishing one's previous work without proper citation.
- Mosaic plagiarism – Paraphrasing without giving credit.
- Improper citation – Failing to acknowledge sources correctly.
- Fabrication – Falsifying data, references, or experimental results.
3. Plagiarism Detection
- All manuscripts submitted to Kavya Setu undergo plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software.
- The acceptable similarity index is ≤10%, excluding properly cited references, tables, and common phrases.
- If plagiarism exceeds 10%, the manuscript is sent back to the author for revision.
4. Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of submission, review, or publication, the following actions will be taken:
4.1 Before Acceptance
Similarity ≤10% – The manuscript proceeds to peer review.
Similarity 10-25% – The manuscript is sent back for revision with instructions to properly cite sources.
Similarity >25% – The manuscript is rejected immediately due to excessive plagiarism.
4.2 After Publication
If plagiarism is found after an article has been published, the following actions will be taken:
- The article will be retracted immediately from the journal’s website and indexing platforms.
- The author(s) may be blacklisted from future submissions.
- The institution(s) of the author(s) may be notified of the misconduct.
5. Self-Plagiarism and Duplicate Submission
- Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals at the same time (duplicate submission).
- Self-plagiarism should be avoided, and any previously published content must be properly cited.
6. Ethical Responsibility of Authors
Authors must:
✔ Ensure that their submission is original and properly cited.
✔ Obtain permission for using copyrighted material, if applicable.
✔ Provide accurate data and references to avoid misrepresentation.
